Real World Radio interviewed activist Igor Kalaba, representative of the Center for Environment - Friends of the Earth Bosnia and Herzegovina, who until recently was the coordinator of the Energy and Climate Change Program of the organization.

The interview with Igor was conducted a few days after Real World Radio published an interview with the Chair of the Center for Environment - Friends of the Earth Bosnia and Herzegovina, Natasa Crnkovic, as the Coalition for the Protection of Rivers of Bosnia and Herzegovina warned about the potential serious impacts on biodiversity and water sources of the unrestrained building of dams.

The development of “dirty energies”, as Friends of the Earth International refers to them, is a matter of concern for Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the interview with Igor we focused on the fossil fuels sector. We asked him about their concerns over the interest shown in developing this sector in the country, the current situation and the national history around this issue. Igor also told us about what the people think and he made reference to some of the potential alternatives, such as solar and wind power. We also discussed about the national energy system from a broader point of view, especially in terms of proposals, interests and weaknesses.
