Non-recognition and protest against Brazilian illegitimate government in Geneva

Approximately 100 people walked out this Monday of the official UN negotiations in Geneva towards a binding treaty on transnational corporations and human rights when an official representative of the Brazilian government took the floor. This was a demonstration of rejection and protest against the Coup government led by Michel Temer in Brazil (Watch video below).

The activists that participated in the action represent organizations and social movements from tens of countries of the five continents. The protest took place shortly after the start of the official negotiations of the Intergovernmental Working Group of the UN Human Rights Council that is setting the bases for a binding treaty on transnational corporations and human rights violations.

The social groups are pressuring in favor of this treaty through the Global Campaign to Dismantle Corporate Power and End Impunity.
After the official Brazilian delegate finished his intervention, the demonstrators returned to the room.
