Climate justice, intersectionality and support for local struggles were the three key elements of anew edition of the Summer Camp of Young Friends of the Earth Europe (YFoEE). This time it has gathered about 100 young people from ten European countries in Brittany, north-west France.
From July 20th to 26th, YFoEE and Friends of the Earth France co-organized the Summer Camp 2015, which hosted three guests from outside Europe: the co-coordinator of the Climate Justice and Energy Program of Friends of the Earth International, Dipti Bhatnagar (FoE Mozambique), and the activists Ruth Nyambura, from Kenya, and Majandra Rodriguez Acha, from Peru.
YFoEE’s youth used the camp to continue coordinating actions towards the future protests running parallel to the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP 21) of the United Nations on Climate Change, to be held during December in the French capital of Paris.
To learn more about this year’s Summer Camp, Real World Radio interviewed the environmentalist Maruška Mileta, of YFoEE and Friends of the Earth Croatia.
