“For now we are mostly getting what’s on the table of the negotiations. Because this is the other problem, democracy in the process; actually it’s quite secret. Nobody publishes official documents”, denounced the Food and Agriculture coordinator for Friends of the Earth Bulgaria, Ivaylo Popov, with reference to the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) being negotiated between the European Union and the United States.

“This is not acceptable for us”, Popov added in an interview with Real World Radio, the day before the end of the Young Friends of the Earth Europe´s (YFoEE) Summer Camp, held by the Beglika river in Bulgaria, in the Rhodope mountains. The camp began on August 14 and ended on Wednesday, August 20. Tens of young people from different European countries took part in the camp.

YFoEE´s summer camp consisted in several days of training for campaigners to strengthen the relations between them and their national groups, thus supporting capacity building in the struggle for environmental and social justice.

Ivaylo was in charge of presenting a workshop on the TTIP during the camp. In the interview with Real World Radio, he focused on the issue and also made an evaluation about the 2014 YFoEE´s Summer Camp.
